Betty McDonald, R.N., COHN (C), COHN-S, CRSP, President, is the founder and owner. She has accumulated twelve years experience as an educator in occupational health and safety for community colleges and the private sector. Betty has 25 years experience in several workplace settings in the manufacturing sector and 15 years experience in the roadwork and aggregate related industry. Betty is a member of the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals as well as the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering.
Garry Ball - (Marketing Consultant) - Garry is the previous owner of Corporate Training Solutions. He has 30+ years of experience in Human Resources and Manufacturing management, including Health, Safety and Security. Garry's background allows him to provide clients with reliable information pertaining to their specific training requirements.
Garry is our coordinator for the "Fire Alarm Technology Program" a certified course approved by the Canadian Fire Alarm Association.
Manley A. Lavender, Associate, has over 15 years experience delivery Health & Safety Training and Leadership/Environmental Management Skills to adults and youth. Manley has received his Degree in Environmental Studies/Geography from York University and a diploma in Event Management/Operation Logistics from Mohawk College. Manley will be providing supervisor leadership and other health and safety courses, including health and safety program development support as well as other Occupational Health & Safety Services delivery.
Debbie Marquardt,specializes in WSIB Claims Management. Debbie has over 15 years of WCB/WSIB experience, NEER / CAD 7 calculations and cost recovery strategies. Debbie provides full preparation and representation at both WSIB & WSIAT level appeals.
Grant Gilliland - (President, Founder Advance Industrial Training Inc., Training Consultant). Prior to becoming president and founder of Advanced Industrial Training, Inc. Grant spent 25 years in industry, specializing in lift trucks, both as a mechanic and as the owner of his own lift truck company. In 1998 Grant became the founder of Advanced Industrial Training, Inc., specializing in Lift Truck Operator Safety and has since expanded to offer a variety of other Occupational Health and Safety courses.
Robert (Bob) Peirson - (Training Consultant), Bob joined Advanced Industrial Training in June of 2000 after spending a total of 21 1/2 years as Maintenance Supervisor, and 18 years in fire, health and safety and security. Additionally, he worked as a Safety Co-ordinator in a manufacturing plant for 1 1/2 years. Bob has spent the last 3 years in Safety Consulting. He is a trainer for the I.A.P.A., W.S.I.B. and Safe Communities. Bob is a past chairman and executive member, as well as an active senior volunteer, for the I.A.P.A. He has been a volunteer fire fighter since 1957 and previously was volunteer District Fire Chief for Kingston Fire and Rescue. Bob's background allows him to be very knowledgeable on all aspects of Health and Safety and Fire Safety.
J.D. (Dave) Brunton, C.D.- (Training Consultant), Dave was a member of the Ontario Provincial Police for 25 years before retiring in 2000. For his last 11 1/2 years with the OPP, Dave was a designated Transport Canada Federal Inspector of Dangerous Goods, and also a designated Inspector of dangerous Goods by the Province of Ontario. During this period, his sole tasks were enforcing the dangerous goods regulations, responding to dangerous goods occurances in Southern Ontario, and the training of personnel in various agencies in the transportation of dangerous goods and trucking regulations.
Since 1990, Dave has represented the Province of Ontario on the Transport Canada Federal/Provincial & Territorial Task Force on the Transportation of Dangerous Goods in Canada. In 1997, he and other committee members of this task force began rewriting the dangerous goods regulations into what is now known as the "Clear Language" version of the regulations. This version became law on August 15, 2002.
